Hey everyone
This is a time that men need to stand up. We see men walking out on their families, friends, or work. We need to show the world that men are faithful to their families, friends, or work.
We also need to look at this time for the true reason why Christians celebrity Christmas... Jesus...
Men need to see the Christ in them so we can come out to all around them.
New Years is a time to renewal. Take a time to see who you are in Christ.

Fallen Man: Adam
In order to understand what a man is supposed to be, we need to look at the first man and learn from his mistake. As we know, the first man mentioned in the Bible is Adam, the father of all humanity (if you are wanting to analyze this man he is mentioned in Genesis 1-3, in detail). Here is the Pro vs. Con list on the manliness of Adam.
Pros:
The first mention of man is that he was created, as well as the rest of humanity, in God's image. This concept of image is not to say that he physically looks like God, but that his characteristics are like that of God. Adam and his offspring are called to rule over the land and the creatures in it just as God is rules over the universe (Gen. 1:26-28). Not only is this image associated with how men are connected to the earth, but there is an image of our relationship to women and God. In Gen. 2:19, man is called to be in community with others, to be relational. This is where God then creates a helpmate for Adam, Eve. This is the first marriage in the Bible that is constructed by God (Gen. 2:22-24). Man is designed to cling to a woman, but also to lead in a mutually fair relationship with her. There is no assertion of dominance of one over the other, there is only pure and true union as one. Men are designed to be in relationship with God in their daily life, to commune with Him and learn from Him. This is seen at different times where God gives instruction to Adam and walks with Adam.
Cons:
Adam had three major failures which have become traits that most of the men in this world have taken on. The first was not supporting his wife in fighting temptation. Adam was right there, basically rubbing elbows, when Eve was being tempted by the snake to eat the fruit, yet he did not make a single stand for Eve's counteractions to the snake(Gen. 3:6). Men within our world have viewed that we need to fend for ourselves and only need support the woman financially, if that. We tend to forget that we are a part of a partnership not a solo act. The second instant was when Adam hid from God in hope not to confront the sin that was committed (Gen. 3:8) . We at times, as men, choose to not face the issues that separate us from God or other relationships and retreat into hobbies or work to escape this problem. Finally, the third failure was when Adam shifted the blame for the sin that was committed onto Eve (Gen. 3:12). When Adam was given the chance to man up to his sin, he automatically looked to pin the blame on someone else. As men, we at times look to others to be our scapegoat so that our good image and standing is not smeared.
Conclusion:
Although Adam is the one that started the fall of all humanity and the fallen attributes of all men, there is something that we can take in his part in Genesis. We can see what a relationship with God and our wives were supposed to be in accordance to God's will. We as men can know what is our role in this earth and within our relationships. We can know that we specifically made with a purpose in this world and that this purpose is intimate with God. Let us take to heart the pros of Adam, but be aware of the potential cons in our lives.
Weekly Biblical Manliness
Hello gents,
I will be posting up in the group, hopefully weekly, a male profile from the Bible and do kind of a pros cons list in understanding their stand in manliness. It is in doing this, we men can have Biblical examples of good manliness that we may walk in discernment about.
Please feel free to comment on the articles.
